Welcome to your new summer job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza in FNaF game, where kids and parents alike come for entertainment and food as far as the eye can see! The main attraction is Freddy Fazbear, of course; and his two friends. They are animatronic robots, programmed to please the crowds! The robots' behavior has become somewhat unpredictable at night however, and it was much cheaper to hire you as a security guard than to find a repairman.
From your small office you must watch the security cameras carefully. You have a very limited amount of electricity that you're allowed to use per night (corporate budget cuts, you know). That means when you run out of power for the night- no more security doors and no more lights! If something isn't right- namely if Freddybear or his friends aren't in their proper places, you must find them on the monitors and protect yourself if needed!
Can you survive five nights at Freddy's?
About FNaF
Five Nights at Freddy's (often abbreviated FNaF) is a point-and-click video game created by Scott Cawthon, the first in the successful Five Nights at Freddy's series. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, Android and iOS in 2014 and can now be found on Desure. The action took place in a fictional pizzeria called Freddy Fazber's Pizza, where the player works as a night watchman and must survive attacks by animatronics in the restaurant that come to life at night and try to kill him, with only some spare rooms, guards and automatic doors running on a limited power source.
The game FNaF received rave reviews and unexpected success, largely thanks to YouTube gameplay videos from some famous youtubers. The enormous success of the game has led to the release of several sequels (at least one a year), as well as books, toys, and even a movie, which is still in development. Thus, Five Nights at Freddy's is now one of the most successful series of horror games and one of the most successful horror franchises in general.
FNaF Gameplay
The player takes on the role of Mike Schmidt, the night watchman at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Over the course of 5 nights (hence the name of the game), he must survive the attacks of the 4 animatronics in the restaurant (Freddy, Bonnie, Chicky and Foxy) as well as Golden Freddy, who is a hallucination that can randomly attack the player. To survive, the player has a system of rooms from which he can see the entire restaurant in his office and thus know where the animatronics are, although some rooms show no images, only sounds. The animatronics start with a room on the opposite side of the restaurant and slowly walk to the player's table, where he has to block them with automatic doors until they leave, although they will return later.
If the animatronics manage to get into the office, they will scare the player, causing the FNaF game to end and the night to begin again. Both the rooms and doors run on a limited power source, so the player must watch how often he uses them. If the player runs out of power before 6 o'clock, Freddy will appear in the doors and scare him after a while, causing the game to end.
The game also has a bonus level, more difficult than the other 5, called "6th Night." After passing this level, the player unlocks Custom Night, where they can choose a difficulty level for each animatronic on a scale of 1 to 20, except for Golden Freddy. After passing Custom Night with all animatronics at level 20, the player unlocks the end of FNaF, where he is dismissed from the restaurant.
FNaF Story
The protagonist of FNaF is Mike Schmidt, a night watchman recently hired at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, owned by the fictional company Fazbear Entertainment. Mike's predecessor, known only as "Phone Guy," leaves him a message each night with instructions and the history of the restaurant, saying that 5 animatronics - Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy and Golden Freddy - come to life at night and patrol the restaurant. The phone guy warns Mike that if the animatronics find him, they'll think he's a suitless endoskeleton and put him in one, which will kill him.
Several newspapers are circulating through the FNaF game, which, along with reports from the Telephone Guy, suggest that the restaurant's reputation has plummeted over a period of time due to several incidents. One is known as the "Bite of '87," when an animatronic went out of control and bit a man in the frontal lobe of the brain. Other newspaper articles mention a serial killer (later identified as the "Purple Guy") who lured five children into the back room of a restaurant and killed them. After the incident, some customers noticed blood leaking from the animatronic suits, suggesting that the killer had hidden the children's bodies in them and now the animatronics were possessed by their spirits, who were trying to find him and get revenge on him.
At the beginning of night four, the phone guy is apparently killed by the animatronics, and the next night Mike receives a phone call with some distorted sounds. After finishing the fifth night, Mike gets a check with his paycheck. After night 6, Mike gets another check with a slightly larger paycheck. And after the 7th night, Mike is fired for allegedly going into animatronics, lack of professionalism, and lack of flair.
FNaF sequels
Because of the unexpected success of FNaF, Cawthon worked on numerous sequels that further explain the secret story of the first FNaF game, about the Purple Guy (later identified as William Afton, owner of all the restaurants) and the children he killed, who now own the animatronics.
